Your EU Responsible Person for cosmetics under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009

FAQ

Short answers about the EU Responsible Person role and CPNP notification.

Questions

Is getCosmeticRP.eu an official EU certification body?

No. There is no such thing as "cosmetics certification" - no EU authority certifies cosmetic products. We act as your EU Responsible Person, a defined legal role under Article 4, not a certifier.

Is every non-EU brand required to appoint a Responsible Person?

No. Only if no existing EU manufacturer, importer or distributor already covers the role for that product. Without one, an EU importer becomes the Responsible Person by default the moment the product enters the EU.

Do you prepare the Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR)?

The CPSR must be prepared by a qualified safety assessor. We coordinate with qualified assessors under the Market Access package; it is not included in the base Responsible Person fee.

Do you accept every product?

No. We accept an appointment only after a compliance review. Some categories - medical devices, medicinal-claim products, biocides, food supplements - are outside the scope of this service; see Products we support.

What happens if my PIF or CPSR isn't ready?

We tell you what's missing and can coordinate the missing pieces under the Market Access package, including sourcing a qualified safety assessor where relevant.
